Clinical Service
RSLSTEEPER provide prosthetic clinical services in partnership with the NHS and take pride in delivering progressive, evidence-based and cost effective services from professional staff to over 10000 patients at six locations throughout the UK. Our approach is to listen to, and work with, our patients, relatives and carers, and Trust partners in an open and honest way.
We employ 42 HPC Registered Prosthetists and 67 Technicians at our service centres.
Our services comply with the latest Healthcare Standards and the Limbless Association’s 10 “C”’s.
-
Evidence-Based and Cost Effective Care: Our Best Practice and Clinical Support Groups are made up of clinicians from across our service centres who work to ensure our practice is evidence-based and cost effective. This is achieved through extensive product evaluation including patient trials. Our clinicians will only prescribe components and socket types that are proven clinically effective, that are cost effective and that are appropriate to the patient.
- Professional Care: RSLSTEEPER clinicians practice within the framework of the Healthcare Standards 2004. This means that our service has been bench-marked for quality and is under continual developmental review.
- Patient-Centred Care: We believe in putting the patient at the centre of our service. Patients are involved in the planning and delivery of their care and services. We find that by listening to, and working in partnership with our patients, that their outcomes are measurably improved.
- Innovative Service: We make best use of modern technology to improve the patient experience and deliver cost benefits to the NHS. We have introduced a world-leading CAD (computer aided design) system with a dual-laser scanner for capturing residual limb shapes. The advantages of this over traditional methods is speed, accuracy, cleanliness and an evidence-based clinical experience. Our CAD equipment is portable, which means we can use it at outreach clinics or even in the patient’s own home if they are unable to attend their centre. This is the most advanced and accurate system currently used in the UK and is only available at our service centres.
Supporting our service centres we offer a Clinical Specialist service created to assist with difficult cases where unique problems may be addressed on an individual basis, and where specialist knowledge, for example in Upper Limb or Hip Disarticulation is required.
Our central fabrication facility in Leeds also offers bespoke conventional and upper limb specialist build service.
